Job Summary:

We seek an experienced and driven Production Manager to oversee day-to-day production operations at our Glasgow Area-based facility. The successful candidate will manage a team of approximately 25 employees, ensure efficient production workflows, meet international customer demands, and maintain high-quality standards. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement, productivity, and operational efficiency within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily production operations to meet agreed international customer demands and delivery schedules.
  • Supervise and motivate production staff, ensuring a safe and productive working environment.
  • Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes with Senior Management to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Monitor production schedules, ensuring timely completion of work orders.
  • Maintain quality control standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and customer specifications.
  • Work closely with the Production Director to align production strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee inventory management & procurement team, ensuring availability of materials while minimising waste.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of workplace safety.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, lean manufacturing principles, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales and administration teams to provide order status feedback, aiding optimum operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and present production reports, KPIs, and performance metrics.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role within an electrical engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, health and safety regulations, and quality management systems.
  • Proficiency in using production planning software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Degree or HND/HNC in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline (desirable but not essential).
  • Must be enthusiastic about supporting the company’s continued growth plans.
